Laila Robins

Personal Information
Laila Robins was in the Tony-nominated play Frozen, for which she received a Lucille Lortel Nomination. Her other theatre credits include starring in the Broadway productions of Heartbreak House, The Herbal Bed, and The Real Thing directed by Mike Nichols. She also starred opposite Richard Thomas as “Miss Alice” in the Second Stage Theatre’s acclaimed revival of Edward Albee’s Tiny Alice. Other appearances off-Broadway include Sore Throats (Lucille Lortel nomination) for Theatre For A New Audience, Mrs. Klein opposite Uta Hagen and Amy Wright (for the national tour of Mrs. Klein she received a Joseph Jefferson Award and a Helen Hayes Nomination), The Merchant of Venice at The Public Theatre (Calloway Award), The Extra Man and Bloody Poetry at Manhattan Theatre Club and The Film Society for Second Stage Theatre. Regionally she has been seen in A Streetcar Named Desire at The Steppenwolf Theatre (1997 Jefferson Award for Best Actress), Antony and Cleopatra, Hedda Gabler, Summer and Smoke, and the World Premiere of Arthur Miller’s Resurrection Blues, all at the Guthrie Theatre, Fool for Love and Fiction at the McCarter Theatre, Skylight at The Mark Taper Forum (Drama Logue Award), The Women at Hartford Stage and Lady from the Sea at Baltimore Center Stage. She has done 10 plays with the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey and several summers at the Williamstown Theatre Festival. Laila recently finished principle photography on her next feature, Multiple Sarcasms with Timothy Hutton. Her other film credits include The Good Shepherd, Jailbait, Things That Hang From Trees, Slippery Slope, Oxygen, Planes, Trains and Automobiles, An Innocent Man, Welcome Home Roxy Carmichael, True Crime, Female Perversions, and Searching for Paradise. Television audiences will remember her from her work in "The Sopranos", "Sex and the City", "Law and Order: SVU", "Law and Order: CI", "Law and Order", "Third Watch", "The Book of Daniel" and the series lead in "Gabriel's Fire" opposite James Earl Jones. Ms. Robins trained at the Yale School of Drama.
