Regional: Kennedy Center Sondheim Celebration’s Sweeney Todd; McCarter Theatre/Old Globe/Seattle Rep, Don Juan; Seattle Rep, A Midsummer Night’s Dream; Alliance Theatre, My Fair Lady; Huntington Theatre, The Mikado, Company and Candide; Missouri Rep, Guys And Dolls; Pioneer Theatre, Ragtime. He has choreographed over seventy operas at companies including Chicago Lyric Opera, Regina; Seattle Opera, Salome; Houston Grand Opera, Samson and Dalila, with Denyce Graves; LA Opera, Aida, with Deborah Voigt; NYCO, Don Giovanni; he collaborated with Mary Zimmerman on her production of Akhnaten for Chicago Opera Theatre, where he is currently choreographing Death in Venice. He served three years as resident choreographer for Santa Fe Opera, where he also directed Countess Maritza. As resident choreographer for Boston Ballet for four years, he created over a dozen world premieres, including The Nutcracker, Nine Lives: Songs of Lyle Lovett and Resurrection, accompanied at its premiere by cellist Yo-Yo Ma. Mr. Pelzig earned his degree in cellular biology from Columbia University.
