Personal Information
ALISON FRASER is now at The Signature Theatre playing Mommy in Edward Albee’s The Sandbox and The Landlady in Adrienne Kennedy’s Funnyhouse of a Negro. She is a two-time Tony Award nominee for The Secret Garden (Martha) and Romance/Romance (Josefine/Monica). On Broadway she was Tessie Tura in Gypsy, Dorine in Tartuffe, and Helena in Drood. Off-Broadway she originated roles in the world premieres of Michael-John LaChiusa’s First Daughter Suite (Betty Ford, Nancy Reagan), David Ives’ The School For Lies (Arsinoé), Charles Busch’s The Divine Sister (Sister Walburga), Todd Rundgren’s Up Against It (Miss Drumgoole), William Finn’s In Trousers and March of the Falsettos (Trina), and Tennessee Williams’ In Masks Outrageous and Austere (The Matron).
