Jon has been lighting designer and
production manager on Shockheaded Peter
since its inception at West Yorkshire
Playhouse. He has worked many times
for Julian Crouch & Phelim McDermott,
most notably on A Midsummer Nights
Dream (ESC); Cinderella (Lyric
Hammersmith) for many other of the
UK’s leading devised theatre companies
including for Told by An Idiot The
Firework-Makers Daughter (Sheffield
Crucible & Lyric Hammersmith) and
Aladdin (Lyric Hammersmith), for The
Right Size The Play What I Wrote
(Wyndham’s/Liverpool Everyman) and
Bewilderness,(Lyric Hammersmith), for
Mark Murphy’s VTOL; In the Privacy of
My Own(UK tour); The Night Shift (BAC &
Traverse Edinburgh) ; West End work
has included Betty (Vaudeville Theatre)
Home & Beauty (Lyric Theatre)
Thunderbirds - FAB (Playhouse) Popcorn
(Apollo,) My Night With Reg (Criterion
& Playhouse) He has also worked for
most regional repertory theatres, most
recently on Northern Stage’s 1984 and A
Clockwork Orange, but also many shows
for West Yorkshire Playhouse;
Nottingham Playhouse; Plymouth Theatre
Royal; Traverse, Edinburgh; Salisbury
Playhouse amongst others. Jon’s
lighting design career began with
Theatre de Complicite and later
included two years as resident lighting
designer for Kenneth Branagh’s
Renaissance Theatre Co.
