Nicholas van Hoogstraten is the author
of Lost Broadway Theatres, the
history of the great New York City
playhouses of the past century. In
2000
he was commissioned to dramatize the
immigrant journey to America;
Embracing Freedom ran for over
2,000 performances on Ellis Island.
Through Definite Maybe Productions he
brought the musical The Fields of
Ambrosia (Aldwych Theatre) and
John Raitt- Broadway Legend
(Prince of Wales Theatre) to London’s
West End. For television he created
the
KTLA Morning News in Los
Angeles
and was one of the original producers
who launched the FX Network. Most
recently he produced the HD digital
cinema recordings of the Broadway
musicals Smokey Joe’s Café,
Putting It Together and
Jekyll & Hyde.
